Lecture on Abdominal Injury


Trauma and injuries are the third leading cause of mortality in the world, whereas it’s the main leading cause of death under the age 40. Every year 5.9 million people lose their lives following different types of injuries making it around 16,000 deaths per day. Abdomen is the 3rd most common injured region with surgery required in  25% of the victims and the mortality rate is 10%. Peak incidence is between 15 and 40 years.
