Spinal tuberculosis is common in the developing countries and is also seen sporadically in well-developed countries. Lately the incidence is on the increase, world over, with the emergence of AIDS. About 60 % of cases are below the age of 20 in developing countries.
In developed countries the older people are more commonly affected.
